Amberstripe crept cautiously through the great forest of pines. Her soft paws did not make a sound on the leaves coating the forest floor. She raised her head in the air and let out an inaudible sniff. She patrolled, her eyes darting about constantly, looking for dogs, or foxes, or badgers...or another Clan cat.She let out a small gasp of pain as she stepped on a pinecone. Amberstripe licked her paw. No blood was coming.
She continued, limping slightly from 'that stupid, wretched pinecone'. She hunted a mouse and buried it. Then she lifted her nose in the air and sniffed again, her mouth wide open. There was nothing strange...or maybe something had its scent hidden...Amberstripe would never find out until she patrolled further. And that is exactly what she did.

A dark black she-cat followed in pursuit of her Clanmate. Finally catching up, Ravenshroud considered Amberstripe. She seemed to be concerned with something, and she was limping. Ravenshroud's intense, amber gaze followed Amberstripe carefully. Finally deciding to act, Ravenshroud slipped out from beneath the brambles she had been hiding in. "Hello," she greeted the other she-cat in her low, melodic voice. There was something eerie about the way her eyes flickered all around, as if to see if they were being watched.

Amberstripe's eyes widened and she turned around and breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh," she meowed, "Hi Ravenshroud. You startled me!" She looked around quickly. "So...I was patrolling the territory." She flicked her tail toward a small mound on the ground. "And I caught a mouse."

Ravenshroud nodded. "I can see that," she meowed. "You seemed like something was bothering you," the dark she-cat observed. "And you're limping," she added as an apparent afterthought.

"Nothing's bothering me...and I was limping because I stepped on a pinecone." She glanced at the pinecone she had stepped on and her eyes narrowed for a split second, but she quickly turned back.

Amberstripe shrugged. "Sure, all you have to do it sniff the air pretty often and catch a bit of prey." She crept forward then and caught a mouse, then buried it. After doing that, she sniffed the air. "Like that. See?"

Ravenshroud nodded. She knew this already and let the words leave her mind as quickly as they entered. "Yeah," she meowed. She scented the air, tail swishing back and forth in time with her breathing. She spotted a squirrel at the base of a tree. Ravenshroud dove at it, hooking it with a claw and nipping its neck, ending the small creature's life quickly. She buried it beneath the ferns around the trees and trotted back to Amberstripe.[/blockquote]

"Good catch!" Amberstripe commented, licking her paw and sniffing the air. "I smell something...it smells like Twolegplace..." She continued forward into a bush and behind a tree. Then, Amberstripe exclaimed, "It smells like fox-dung from Twolegplace!"
Although very suspicious, Amberstripe looked behind her, hoping Ravenshroud was following. She might need Ravenshroud's help to catch whoever this was, in ShadowClan territory.
Amberstripe ran over all the things it could be in her mind. It could be a kittypet covered in fox-dung, that'd be funny. Or it could be a fox that lives in Twolegplace and had just done some dirt. Or it could be some Twoleg that had just picked up fox-dung or something. Amberstripe chuckled. With each option, they would have fun, and fun was exactly what she needed. Some fun to make the day better, and not so boring.
So she waited paitently for whatever it was to come out. Come out, for StarClan's sake! she thought, then realized that the only reason she wanted it to come out was because she wanted to beat it up. It didn't matter, if it was smart, it would come out. "Whoever it is, come out or I'll come and get you!" she called...

//.ooc: Ugh, I have no muse like whatsoever Dx
xx.R.a.v.e.n.//S h r o u d xx. Ravenshroud tailed the warrior slowly. She crept up to sit beside her. "Hm," she meowed quietly, a soft hum of thought. "Probably a fox or kittypet," Ravenshroud muttered in a muted hiss to Amberstripe. As Amberstripe called with hostility to whatever it was, Ravenshroud peered out at TwoLegplace, eyes curious. She hadn't been around here recently, and it seemed to change quickly. TwoLeg place had always fascinated her. TwoLegs may be rather intrusive and unobservant, but they weren't stupid. They were very innovative, in fact. Ravenshroud had studied their behaviors every chance she had gotten, and those chances had been few. She glanced at Amberstripe with bated breath, waiting for a reaction to whatever it was.[/blockquote]
